Dr. Robert Blaisdell joined the Health, Athletic Training, Recreation and Kinesiology (HARK) Department at Longwood University in the Fall of 2018. He holds a Ph.D. in Sport Physiology and Performance from East Tennessee State University, a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University, and a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Temple University.
His areas of research interest include effects of neuromuscular fatigue in athletes, repeated-sprint performance, long-term athlete development and monitoring, among other sport performance topics. Dr. Blaisdell has presented nationally and internationally on topics related to performance training of elite-level athletes. He teaches courses in the areas of Strength & Conditioning, Motor Learning, Nutrition, Sport Psychology, as well as a National Strength and Conditioning Association- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam preparation course.
