Please consider nominating a student for the Longwood Excellence in Research and Inquiry Award. This award recognizes undergraduate and graduate students who have gone above and beyond in the development of their scholarship while at Longwood.

Students who are eligible for this award will be recognized during an awards ceremony at the Spring Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry on April 19 and will be listed in the Showcase program. Students will also receive a pewter rotunda award pin.

If you know of a student who has completed one or more of the following endeavors, please consider nominating them for the award using the form below. All students who are nominated and who meet the award criteria will receive the award.

To be eligible for the award, students must have completed one or more of the following accomplishments during the 2022-2023 Academic year, including summer 2022:

  • Published a peer-reviewed paper
  • Presented research at a conference outside of Longwood University
  • Had a performance or exhibition outside of Longwood University
  • Participated in the Longwood Senior Thesis program 
  • Received external funding to support their research or inquiry project
  • Published in INCITE
  • Some other accomplishment that you feel demonstrates the student’s excellence in research and inquiry that is not listed above
